Workshop on Biological Assessment Methods for Coastal and Transitional Waters , Trogir - June/ July 2008

Workshop on Biological Assessment Methods for Coastal and Transitional Waters, 2008A workshop on “Biological Assessment Methods for Coastal and Transitional Waters” was held in Trogir on 30th of June and 1st of July 2008. The workshop was prepared by Twinning office team in cooperation with Croatian Waters.

The aim of the workshop was to give more detailed information on biological assessment systems developed in Germany and to establish bilateral contacts between scientists of different biological organism groups.

Workshop on Biological Assessment Methods for Coastal and Transitional Waters, 2008There was great interest in the workshop: more than 30 biological experts from Croatian Waters (Hrvatske vode), Biological Department of Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, Center for marine research of Institute Ruder Boškovic and Oceanographic Institute in Split attended.

The presentations from German experts gave an overview of the existing biological assessment systems in Germany, while the Croatian experts presented the current state of development of the Croatian assessment systems.

Workshop on Biological Assessment Methods for Coastal and Transitional Waters, 2008On the second day a boat trip around Trogir'si Archipelago was organized. The workshop concluded with an agreement of a follow -up workshop  planned for spring of 2009.
